Things to Keep in Mind BEFORE Dieting
Sunnysong-shine.blogspot.com
Whenever I’m in a need of a weight loss,
I
remember struggling to find the right “diet” for me.
Did it work?
Well, in some
way, yes it has.
However, it was nothing but a torment.
On my very first weight loss
attempt I succeeded.
I exercised daily in the gym and ate in calorie deficit.
Unfortunately, after reaching my goal weight,
I was still unsatisfied and this
was when everything started to roll down the hill.
I forced myself to work out
more hours and eat less and less
till my body stopped losing weight.
In
addition, my body put themselves into starvation mode.
That was when I started
seeing cellulite and do to hormonal changes
I did not get regular periods.
In
the end, I lost body balance and hormones yet gained
more weight and
uncontrollable hunger.
I started craving all the junk I never really ate
before.
Getting stressed about my weight, I started eating more and more.
After
year after year going through trials and errors, I’m successfully in healthy weight again and maintaining it
without
any sweat.
I know how hard it is to get back to your healthy body,
so here are
some tips and tricks I used, but remember
everything takes time.
I hope this tips can help those who are
planning on going on a diet; a healthy one I hope.
Check to see if you are healthy. This sounds like nonsense at first,
I know, but if you already went through a horrible diet before then most likely
your body is in starvation mode. When your body is in starvation mode, you need
to double the effort you did before to see any change in weight. Therefore, If you are in
starvation mode, first get out of it. This will take time. For me it took me
4 months may be more (it's hard to be exact). Method is simple, eat regularly and don’t skip meals.
Nurture and feed your body so it can trust you!
However, some people (Like Me)
might have crazy cravings over junk food and get ugly hunger every day. This is
because you are lacking in nutrient of some sort or in my case I was allergic to
gluten and fructose. The moment I fixed my diet by avoiding what I was allergic
to, tah-dah! Like magic I lost all the pounds that were lingering.
So please girls and boys! Learn about your body. Weight loss is not
hard when your body is in its healthy state. After my body was released from
starvation mode, weight loss was a no problem. All I had to do was add 30mins
of treadmill to my morning routine. After that I did just a moderate exercise
here and there to maintain my weight.
2.
Posture
Second tip is posture.
Posture is the next step for your weight loss, especially for your problem areas. Hormone and posture will affect your muffin top and upper arm. If your hip is sticking out like a duck, your shoulder is roll in or your neck
is too far out you are in risk of cellulite and problem areas. When your
posture, bone structure is not aligned, it will affect blood circulation and
this is when the entire problem starts.
What I do to fix this is by standing against
the flat wall, up really close against the wall. (just like the picture above!) While holding my self-aligned,
I focus on my abs and my back. What you want is to get close as possible to the
wall with your back and neck tucked in, and shoulders touching the wall and
pulling the stomach inwards towards the back(wall). If you walk like this, you will feel
your butt tightened, stomach flattened and shoulder relaxed. It’s simple but
very effective.
3.
Motivation
This is THE one even I struggle with. Every time, when I feel like I need to lose some pounds, it's because I don't like what I see in the mirror. I DO compare my self with other girls who are thinner than I (not frequently, but you know how we girls have those days when we don't feel pretty; especially that time of the month!). This is really weird, because I know I'm very slim and to some people, I do have the dream body or weight.
Yet, all of us still have insecurities. This is when I think back to my self.Tell myself that it is okay to feel insecure, to feel I'm not perfect because that is how I currently feel. However, problem occurs when we start to
punish our self for being who we are. Not out of love but hatred.
If you go on a diet because you hate your body, oh boy, you are in trouble. Everything that starts with hate or bad intentions never have a good result, do they? Please ask yourself if your motivation to lose weight or to gain weight is out of love.
If not, let's work on loving our selves first. It will take time like step 1, but in the long run, you will thank yourself for it. Some of you might say, "If you love yourself so much why would you
go on a diet?"well more you love your body, more you want it to be healthy and be groomed.
Like your new hair or purse. When you love something you wouldn't want any spots getting stained, right? you would want them spotless and perfect like it was so everybody else can also love it as much as you do. After mastering these three steps, I know you will be able to feel better and make the right decisions for your diet!
